Enjoy special Fish Hoek accommodation on the
Indian Ocean coast
Fish Hoek was first developed into a seaside village in the 19th century after a local farm was subdivided. In earlier years, during the occupation of the Dutch and then the English settlers, that particular section of the bay had been known as a prime fishing spot. Hence the name Fish Hoek.
The original village has now developed into a modern residential and holiday centre with easy road or rail access to Cape Town. Fish Hoek also has a golf course and its own wine farm
Fish Hoek's sheltered beach is known as one of the safest, and its playground and beachside restaurant attracts many families. The sea water is said to be warm in comparison with other popular Atlantic Ocean beaches
From August to October along the Indian Ocean coastline the Southern Right whales move close in to the shore to calve, attracting many spectators who park along the Fish Hoek roadside to view the animals sound and frolic in the waves.
Fish Hoek accommodation with its brand of history and hospitality reflects the character of the town and attracts visitors from far and wide.
