RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It's a new way of distributing content/information on the internet - be it news, pages from websites, newsletters or blogs.
Also known as XML it's a simple and convenient way for you to access constantly updated online information by subscribing to the relevant Cape Town RSS or any other feed.
A content provider writes a short description pointing to his/her information and then publishes it as an XML/RSS/Atom file. You then subscribe by using an RSS reader and link from the description through to the information source.
The format of an RSS feed is called XML Your RSS reader is able to gather, or aggregate multiple RSS feeds, interpret the XML and display the publisher's latest information as it is updated.
So firstly, in order to subscribe to and read RSS feeds you need an RSS reader/aggregator. To start with you could get one which will accept multiple feeds. Here is a selection to choose from: RSS Readers
You can also conveniently read my
